1MALAYSIA UNIFIED SALE TO BE LAUNCHED ON 29 JUNE 2013

Posted on 02:29 by Unknown
Malaysia has organised nationwide sales for the past 13 years that have evolved into the 1Malaysia Grand Prix (GP) Sales in March, 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival in the summer and 1Malaysia Year End Sales in December, seeing great returns to the retail sector. Analysis has shown that the Malaysian retail sector is in the top 10 in Asia and there is still potential for growth. Therefore, the Government through the Economic Transformation Programme, has introduced the 1Malaysia Unified Sale, which aims to bring all sectors of the economy together in an annual Malaysia Unified Sales event by introducing discounts, incentives and/or added services in all sectors of the economy.

The implementation of this project will generate an additional £382 million in Gross National Income, 14,312 additional employment opportunities and £1 billion in investment. The 1Malaysia Unified Sale is to be held together with the 1Malaysia Mega Carnival Sales from 29 June 2013 to 01 September 2013.

It is hoped that the 1Malaysia Unified Sale will make Malaysia an attractive shopping destination and create an even greater shopping legacy for Malaysia. Over 50 sectors have been targeted to participate in the 1Malaysia Unified Sale including, Retail, Food and Beverage, Hotel, Spa, Tourist Attractions, Telecommunications, Travel, Jewellery and Wedding Accessories.

It will contribute to the Government’s target to receive 36 million tourist arrivals and RM168 billion in receipts by 2020, as outlined in the Malaysia Tourism Transformation Plan (MTTP) 2020.
